Joel Richardson’s The Global Jesus Revolution: The Church Must Embrace Prayer And Missions, Target Muslims As Largest Unevangelized People Group

Joel Richardson is one of the most important voices in understanding the role of Islam in biblical eschatology. Richardson has outlined this relationship in numerous books including Islamic Antichrist, Mideast Beast, and When A Jew Rules The World.

Most recently, his documentary End Times Eyewitness reviewed this idea from the midst of the Arab Spring uprisings across the Middle East over the past few years.

Now, Richardson has released the follow up documentary The Global Jesus Revolution, which focuses on how the Church in the West needs to respond to the increasing troubles we see across the world, especially in the Middle East.

In a recent episode of The Underground, Richardson discusses these issues and the roadmap forward for Christians:

Dinesh D’Souza Was Right: Obama Helped Revive The Islamic Caliphate And He’s Not Finished Yet

I never did catch Dinesh D’Souza’s 2016: Obama’s America but I did get the gist and I haven’t been surprised by anything Obama has “achieved” so far, be it foreign policy disaster after disaster, igniting racial conflict at home, continuing to claim to be a Christian all the while supporting the murder of children and the march of homosexual totalitarianism.

While all of these things are nightmarish in themselves, nothing stands out so vividly as the fact that the first Islamic caliphate in a century appeared on Obama’s watch, specifically because he made every foreign policy move to make it a possibility and a reality.

Sadly, our days of a revived Islamic caliphate have only just begun and even now nobody seems to realise this is about the most significant event since Israel’s rebirth in 1948.

Nobody understands or cares that the last Islamic caliphate (the one that Turkey will most likely headline – just like old times) is arguably the best bet for the anitchrist empire. Even if that theory turns out wrong, and I’m happy to wait it out on that one, the world must still contend with the religion of one quarter of a billion murders coming back into the kinds of power it had in past golden ages when it conquered whole swathes of the planet in jihadic conquest.

Now that 2016 is almost here, it’s worth reconsidering just how on the money D’Souza has actually been:

If you haven’t seen the Dinesh D’Souza movie “2016: Obama’s America,” it’s a worthwhile watch. If you have seen it, now’s a good time to dust off the DVD and watch it again.

As we near the beginning of 2016, it’s more than a little unnerving to see D’Souza’s prediction about Obama working to create a new caliphate moving closer to reality.

Produced before the 2012 election, the documentary explores Obama’s life and motivations, then projects what the world will look like in 2016 if he were to win a second term, which of course he did, a little more than a year before D’Souza was indicted by the Justice Department for violating campaign finance laws. (Considering the actual crime — giving a friend money to donate to a political campaign — suggesting that D’Souza was targeted is a little like suggesting that the sun will rise tomorrow. This Administration has certainly spent less on bigger fish.)

In the documentary, the conservative author speculated that Obama picked up anti-American attitudes from his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, who according to the film grew to hate her second husband, Lolo Soetoro, when he took a job with an American company in Indonesia. Dunham’s first husband and Obama’s father became a sort of magical figure in the young Barack’s mind, praised by his mother for his anti-colonial attitudes.

Dunham, who was apparently an atheist, raised her son in a Muslim environment to act as a Muslim, according to the film, before handing him over to her parents in Hawaii, where he would fall under the influence of communist Frank Marshall Davis.

The film’s big theme is that Obama inherited hatred of America as a colonial power from his family and his exposure to the Muslim and communist worldviews, and that he acts out those feelings in a deep-seated, neurotic need for the approval of his dead father.

In 2012, the documentary predicted that in 2016, Obama’s foreign policy will have led the world to the revival of the Islamic Caliphate, with solidly Muslim countries from North Africa to the Middle East and up into Turkey joining under a renewed global Muslim leadership that hasn’t been seen for most of a century.

At the end of June 2014, ISIS declared itself to be just that, the new Caliphate.

The world at large has not officially recognized that status, but ISIS since then has grown by leaps and bounds, making its presence felt as far away as Paris and San Bernardino, California.

The other part of the plan outlined by D’Souza was the Islamization of America by increasing Muslim immigration and by taking America down a few pegs around the world and at home.

As we approach 2016, America’s economic outlook has not improved significantly, and the White House is planning to bring in waves of Muslim “refugees” and tighten gun control laws, despite recent terror attacks. In addition, Obama stands ready to hand over U.S. authority to the United Nations under a “climate change” treaty that is guaranteed to wreck the economy for years to come if it is enacted.

The “Caliphate” that has taken shape in the wake of Obama’s foreign policy is distinctly Sunni and under the shadow of the Muslim Brotherhood, from Libya to ISIS. Syria, which is also majority Sunni, is nonetheless led by the Shia Bashar al-Assad, whom Obama has been trying to remove from power for years.

Iraq, before Obama abandoned it to the tender mercies of the Sunni ISIS, was majority Shiite with a Shiite-led government.

The other piece of the puzzle that stands out is Iran, which is majority Shiite. However, its soon-to-be-bomb-ready nuclear technology makes it a powerful player on its own, and the support of Russia ensures that no U.S.-backed rebellion will stand much chance there. Still, Iran seems to see Israel as its primary enemy, so it may be seen as a tool of convenience for the time being.

Israel is the last real roadblock to the Caliphate, being the only democracy in the region, and overwhelmingly Jewish to boot. If the documentary is correct and Obama truly sees his presidency as the window of opportunity for Muslims to take down Israel, next year is the appointed time.

The only thing really standing in the way of the completion of the Caliphate’s takeover seems to be, ironically, Russia. Vladimir Putin’s alliance with Shiite governments in Syria and Iran, and now his overtures to the desperate Shiite government of Iraq, are putting obstacles in Obama’s path.

Obama may have actually undercut himself by his many efforts to weaken America. As the United States’ power is perceived to wane, so does Obama’s influence. It’s a resource Obama has squandered since Day One of his presidency in his quest to resolve his daddy issues.

Now, Putin’s obvious Alpha male status on the global stage, combined with Obama’s perception as Beta — possibly Delta — is keeping the White House from sealing the deal on an Islamic Caliphate.

Whether that changes next year remains to be seen.

Now it’s really down to how much damage the global communist Paris accords will render as cheap and easily accessible forms of energy are catapulted out of a green, communist utopia that threatens to consume the nations.

My guess?

Catastrophic.

Europe’s Limited Immigration Options

It is certainly Christ-like to help people and if refugees are in the West, then Christians should invite them into Christian community and help them towards independence in their new homeland.

Governments, on the other hand, are established to protect the people they govern and opening the borders of the West to millions of refugees does not protect people, it endangers them – native and refugee alike.

On top of this, it enables Middle Eastern and African governments to escape their own responsibilities to their people, something they really don’t need our help in doing.

So what is happening today in Europe really is the makings of serious civil conflict, even civil wars.

For the moment, we can all pat ourselves on the back for taking in unsustainable numbers of refugees but when the religious and cultural baggage they bring drives us into inevitable conflict – it’s already happening – then our politically correct righteousness will be exposed for what it really is: idiocy.

Here’s an interesting article by Antony Carr that sums up Europe’s limited options in the face of mass immigration:

In Africa and the Middle East whole countries are emptying. But from what are their people fleeing? In essence, they are fleeing from themselves, and when they enter other countries they bring with them all that implies: failed cultures, intolerant insularity and ancient animosities

In recent months, we’ve seen pictures and read reports of thousands of people, mostly males from Muslim lands, swarming into Europe, overpowering all attempts to halt the flow. Just a few years ago, this was unimaginable to almost everyone except Osama bin Laden, who is proving to be the prophet of the age and whose death, according to Jeremy Corbyn, the new leader of the British Labour Party, was a tragedy. What will happen now? Here are three possible scenarios.

Scenario 1: There is no change from the present – border controls remain down, people continue to pour in, numbers grow to millions, governments bleat helplessly, disorder spreads, the welfare state collapses under the strain, society haemorrhages, the young migrate and a new European dark age begins.

Scenario 2: Barriers are put up to prevent the invasion and colonisation of Europe. John Howard’s approach is adopted – “We will decide who comes to this country and the circumstances in which they come.” Pleas from the usual suspects are ignored; legal objections are overruled or circumvented. Those attempting to breach the borders are repelled with whatever force is necessary. Those who evade the border controls are rounded up and expelled. National and regional border controls are reintroduced to ensure defence in depth.

Scenario 3: Europe tackles the problem at source – effectively taking control over the failed states concerned and ensuring they are run properly for at least a century.

Scenario 3 is clearly impractical. Europeans do not have the belief, the confidence, the will or the financial and military capacity to undertake such a herculean task.

Scenario 2 will certainly be attempted but, from what we can see at present, in a half-hearted, spasmodic and ineffective fashion, for nationalism is now considered wicked — akin to racism — and multiculturalism implies that all cultures and religions must be given equal respect. The political classes, Brussels bureaucrats and others of their kidney throughout Europe will sponsor endless statements condemning violence and pleading for community understanding, and they will promote a plethora of ineffective laws. But the situation will prove beyond them. If the people fail to rise up and throw out their betters, one can foresee their retreat to protected compounds where they will lament the death of the European dream (for which they will blame the unenlightened lower orders, not themselves) and adopt the foetal position if and when crowds bent on loot pound on their gates.

In Africa and the Middle East, whole countries are emptying. But from what are their people fleeing? In essence, they are fleeing from themselves, and when they enter other countries, they bring with them what they fled from. We can expect all the toxic hatreds that have festered for centuries in their countries of origin to be imported with them. Is this the end, a kind of zombie apocalypse? Has the once robust civilizational confidence of Europeans been so undermined in recent years that they will be helpless in the face of those who would destroy them, the fate eerily foreshadowed by the French writer, Jean Raspail, in his 1973 novel Camp of the Saints.

Why are so many reduced to wittering helplessly? Perhaps in large part it’s due to the Western world being weakened by the malign cultural influence of the left, many of whose members have followed the precepts first advanced by the Italian Communist, Antonio Gramsci, who proposed that rather than standing for elections, which they would lose, those on the left should bring about a cultural revolution by infiltrating key institutions. This has been substantially accomplished. Educational institutions and much of the media throughout the Anglosphere now spread the message that Europe’s record in relation to the rest of the world is one of racism, xenophobia and oppression — the Australian story, for example, being one of exploitation, cruelty and dispossession. How can a people, so unworthy, with faith in neither God nor themselves, resist a people whose religion insists they should have primacy, that they are entitled to what they seek as of right?

Ethnic conflicts in the past were resolved with borders, partitions, ghettos – devices that were always necessary to keep the peace unless there was a hegemon, such as the British Raj. Expulsion of whole peoples would sometimes occur. For example, after World War II, at least 12 million ethnic Germans were expelled or fled from Eastern Europe.
History has shown that the Europeans are capable of anything and with the collapse of the European project we can expect new leaders to emerge from the ruins, many of whom will not be nice. There will be new Nazis, new Communists. New Identities, loyalties and borders will be established. Our descendants will live in interesting times!

If All Cultures Are Equal, Why Are Millions Of Refugees Fleeing The Thoroughly Islamic Middle East?

Leftists love to insist that all cultures are equal.

What they really mean is that if you disagree with them, you should shut your mouth and go die in a hole otherwise they will organise a hole for you to be murdered in.

They did it in numerous Communist states and while they haven’t worked their way up to murder in the West yet, ominous signs abound.

While Christians have been culturally scorned for decades now, the past decade has seen the progression to using the law to oppress believers through fines and even jail time.

Anyone who wants to claim that history will not repeat itself is either ignorant or part of the agenda to make the brutally historic Christian persecution happen again today.

In the mean time, we see entire nations worth of refugees pouring out of the Middle East and Northern Africa, locations where the population is almost entirely Islamic and that have been ruled by Islamic empires for the best part of fourteen centuries.

So what happened?

Did these refugees not get the memo that all cultures are equal?

Are they racists?

Or are they uniquely positioned to understand that plenty of cultures actually suck hard?

The answers from Jerry Newcombe are worth some serious thought, especially from Christians who ought to know better:

Masses of people are leaving countries in the Middle East and North Africa and streaming into Europe for the chance of a better life. It’s an enormous tragedy. More than four million refugees have come out of Syria since 2011 because of its civil war.

How did such a disaster happen? No one takes a perilous journey to leave home unless home has become unsafe or impossible to stay in. No parents put their children on a dangerous, rickety old boat unless it is better than the alternative. They are desperate. Our hearts go out to them.

Writing for the Wall Street Journal, Walter Russell Mead penned “A Crisis of Two Civilizations.” He described this migration as “one of the worst humanitarian disasters since the 1940s.” He noted that even “the sick and the old are on the road.”

The main reason behind the mass migration appears to be the suppression of freedom and the violence wrought under various Islamic governments and the relative freedom afforded by formerly-Christian Europe.

Mead writes, “Today we are watching the failure of Islamism. From the Muslim Brotherhood to Islamic State, Islamist movements have had no more success in curing the ills of Arab civilization than any of the secular movements of the past.”

This crisis shows how cultural relativism — the idea that one culture is just as good as another — and that all cultures are basically equal — is just not true. People are voting with their feet, whether they realize it or not, and going to countries with a Christian base.

I am not saying that European nations, or America for that matter, officially acknowledge the contributions of the Christian faith to their civilization. But it is Christianity that has helped shape the positive aspects of the West.

Daniel Lapin, an Orthodox Jewish rabbi, who appreciates the contributions of Jesus, made an interesting point when I interviewed him years ago for our television special, What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?, which was based on the book that I co-wrote with Dr. D. James Kennedy.

Said Rabbi Lapin, “The easiest way to answer the question of whether life on planet earth is better because Jesus walked Jerusalem or not is very simple, and that is: Just watch the way people vote with their feet. Watch where the net flow of immigration is in the world today. Is it from Christian countries to non-Christian countries or the other way around? It is so obvious.”

This current crisis in Europe reminds me of the plight of Cubans who have desperately been trying to get to America, as they flee the bankruptcy of atheistic communism.

One time I came across one of these Cuban refugee rafts on the beach from Cuba. This homemade craft was composed of three wooden doors, with flotsam at the bottom to keep it afloat.

One of the doors served as the hull and the other two made up the raft’s sides, with window shutters nailed across to serve as crossbeams. It was literally as if someone had torn apart his own home to put this thing together. Items of clothing in the raft indicate that it had held as many as ten people. I don’t know what became of them.

Since it is illegal to leave the island, those fleeing would have had to make this raft secretly. Then they would have to get safely out of Cuban waters. If they were discovered by the Cuban coastal authorities, they could have been shot on sight to prevent them from leaving. Yet they embarked upon the trip nevertheless.

And all cultures are equal?

Having escaped to international waters, the occupants of this doors-turned-into-a-raft had to row it or float a few hundred miles over several days. They would have had to deal with the grueling sun and the potential threat of sharks along the way in order to try and get to America.

Why? So that maybe — just maybe — they could get a chance to enjoy what you and I enjoy every day. Freedom. The chance for a better life.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans born here think little of the freedom we have. The tragedy is that because we are jettisoning our Christian roots, our freedom is now at risk.

Freedom is a great blessing and flows directly from the Judeo-Christian tradition. It may sound like heresy to modern ears, but all cultures are not the same. Some ideas are better than others. Millions of people would not risk everything, even the lives of their own children, if it were not so. There is certainly no mass migration of people into radical Islamic or communist countries. The supposed glories of multi-culturalism are sinking into the Mediterranean.

More Wise Considerations On The Syrian Refugee Crisis

It’s easy to see pictures of hundreds of thousands of fleeing Middle Eastern refugees and become incensed at people in the West, who are neither accountable for their flight nor responsible for their future.

That saves us from asking hard questions such as who is accountable and responsible, and why do people pour out of the Middle East like there’s something terribly oppressive there ruining their lives?

It also looks good to other Leftist-minded people who are happy for everyone else to fix problems they are often responsible for – and if not responsible, complicit in – in the first place

Bill Muehlenberg’s commentary cuts through the emotion and focuses on the consequences of this crisis for Westerner and refugee alike:

There are always certain issues, especially when clouded with emotive media imagery, which can result in people ceasing to reflect critically but simply run on emotions. The refugee issue is one such topic where emoting instead of thinking tends to predominate.

This has certainly been the case with the tragic Syrian refugee problem, with many saying we must do something, and we must do it now. Well, critical reflection is actually preferable to knee-jerk reactions, lest we simply make things far worse.

People are complaining that Europe, Australia and other places must simply take in far more refugees, no matter what. But a few facts and bits of evidence need to be considered here, instead of simply running on feelings. Let me offer a number of such facts.

Tony Abbott has just announced that he will take in more Syrian refugees. And according to a recent United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees report on resettlement, Australia is among the world leaders in helping such refugees: http://www.unhcr.org/543408c4fda.pdf

As I have written elsewhere, no nation can have open slather policies here, and each nation has a right to defend its borders and determine what is a feasible number of refugees or asylum seekers that can be accepted. I discuss in greater detail the political as well as biblical data on this here: billmuehlenberg.com/2010/11/09/christians-and-asylum-seekers/

And when it comes to Muslim immigration, we must be even wiser, as the spread of political Islam and creeping sharia is often accomplished by means of immigration. Please read this for more detail: billmuehlenberg.com/2009/08/27/western-immigration-and-global-jihad/

For example, the BBC reports that fake passports are already being used to get jihadists into Europe: “German customs officers have seized packages containing Syrian passports and police suspect they are being sold illegally to asylum seekers. A finance ministry official said both genuine and forged passports were in the packets intercepted in the post.”

And IS has threatened to send 500,000 migrants to Europe as part of jihad:

ISIS has threatened to flood Europe with half a million migrants from Libya in a ‘psychological’ attack against the West, it was claimed today. Transcripts of telephone intercepts published in Italy claim to provide evidence that ISIS is threatening to send 500,000 migrants simultaneously out to sea in hundreds of boats in a ‘psychological weapon’ against Europe if there is military intervention against them in Libya.

Many would be at risk of drowning with rescue services unable to cope. But authorities fear that if numbers on this scale arrived, European cities could witness riots. Separately, the militants hope to cement their control of Libya then cross the Mediterranean disguised as refugees, according to letters seen by Quilliam the anti-terror group, reported by the Telegraph.

Or as another report warns:

ISIS says thousands of fighters are already in place in Europe, disguised as refugees, just waiting for the signal. An operative working for Islamic State has revealed that the terror group has successfully smuggled thousands of covert Jihadists into Europe, the Express writes.

The Syrian operative claimed more than 4,000 covert ISIS gunmen had been smuggled into western nations – hidden amongst innocent refugees. The ISIS smuggler, who is in his 30s with a trimmed jet-black beard, revealed the ongoing clandestine operation is a complete success. “Just wait,” he smiled.

We must also ask why most rich Muslim nations are refusing to take in these refugees. Perhaps they know something we don’t: “Five of the wealthiest Muslim countries have taken no Syrian refugees in at all, arguing that doing so would open them up to the risk of terrorism. Although the oil rich countries have handed over aid money, Britain has donated more than Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar combined.”

Imagine that: Muslim nations admitting that Muslim refugees pose a genuine terrorist threat. Yet the West is supposed to throw its doors wide open with no questions asked. That is a recipe for national suicide. Nonie Darwish, who has had to flee the Middle East herself, says this about “why Muslim countries rarely prepare for disaster to save lives of other Muslims and heavily rely on the West to rescue victims of Islamic jihad”:

-Muslim countries know that the West will take care of their mistakes so they don’t have to avoid the negative consequences of their actions.

-Western countries quickly come to the rescue, open their wallets and land to prove to the world that they are not Islamophobes.

-Arab countries lack compassion and action to rescue each other despite the rhetoric of Arab/Islamic unity. Saudi Arabia and Gulf nations never open their borders to poor Muslims in distress. Even Egypt rejected the Darfur refugees who were later forced to go to Israel, which took them.

-Oil rich Arab countries make it very difficult for other Arabs to visit except for haj. They are very tribal and refuse to dilute their culture with influx of foreigners. Third world country workers are treated inhumanely and are rarely given permanent residency, citizenship or equal rights as citizens.

-Arabs would rather spend their petrodollars on expanding their influence in the West rather than making life better for their own citizens or supporting other Muslim nations who are financially less fortunate.

-Islamic groups believe that refugees from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan will spread Sharia in Europe, which is the main goal of jihad.

-By clearing the area from the opposition and citizens who are not contributing to the empowerment of ISIS, clears the way for ISIS to expand beyond Syria and Iraq. Europe and America are absorbing the opposition to ISIS, so why stand in the way?

Emotive images, like that of the poor dead boy lying on the beach, are relied upon to pull Western heartstrings, instead of having them think critically and rationally. As to the tragic case of the boy and his family, they of course had been living comfortably in free housing in Turkey for three years.

As one commentator writes, “Aylan was not in ‘harm’s way’. He was not a refugee. His family was not fleeing danger. Indeed, what his father particularly sought in Europe was a good dentist. Yes, Aylan’s terrible death does not tell us to open our borders. If anything, it warns us to be wary of the consequences of badly directed ‘compassion’.”

And as mentioned, humanitarian concerns must be balanced with national security concerns. The Prime Minister of Hungry has rightly argued that “Those who are overwhelmed cannot offer shelter to anyone”. His entire speech is well worth reading: http://www.kormany.hu/en/the-prime-minister/the-prime-minister-s-speeches/those-who-are-overwhelmed-cannot-offer-shelter-to-anyone

English commentator Peter Hitchens offers some sober thinking on all this. He is worth quoting at length:

Having seen more than my share of real corpses, and watched children starving to death in a Somali famine, I am not unmoved by pictures of a dead child on a Turkish beach. But I am not going to pretend to be more upset than anyone else. Nor am I going to suddenly stop thinking, as so many people in the media and politics appear to have done.

The child is not dead because advanced countries have immigration laws. The child is dead because criminal traffickers cynically risked the lives of their victims in pursuit of money. I’ll go further. The use of words such as ‘desperate’ is quite wrong in this case. The child’s family were safe in Turkey. Turkey (for all its many faults) is a member of Nato, officially classified as free and democratic. Many British people actually pay good money to go on holiday to the very beach where the child’s body was washed up.

It may not be ideal, but the definition of a refugee is that he is fleeing from danger, not fleeing towards a higher standard of living. Goodness knows I have done what I could on this page to oppose the stupid interventions by this country in Iraq, Libya and Syria, which have turned so many innocent people into refugees or corpses.

But I can see neither sense nor justice in allowing these things to become a pretext for an unstoppable demographic revolution in which Europe (including, alas, our islands) merges its culture and its economy with North Africa and the Middle East. If we let this happen, Europe would lose almost all the things that make others want to live there.

You really think these crowds of tough young men chanting ‘Germany!’ in the heart of Budapest are ‘asylum-seekers’ or ‘refugees’? Refugees don’t confront the police of the countries in which they seek sanctuary. They don’t chant orchestrated slogans or lie across the train tracks. And why, by the way, do they use the English name for Germany when they chant? In Arabic and Turkish, that country is called ‘Almanya’, in Kurdish something similar. The Germans themselves call it ‘Deutschland’. In Hungarian, it’s ‘Nemetorszag’.

Did someone hope that British and American TV would be there? I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: spontaneous demonstrations take a lot of organising. Refugees don’t demand or choose their refuge. They ask and they hope. When we become refugees one day (as we may well do), we will discover this.

As to what those angry, confident and forceful young men actually are, I’ll leave you to work it out, as I am too afraid of the Thought Police to use what I think is the correct word. But it is interesting that this week sees the publication in English of a rather dangerous book, which came out in France just before the Charlie Hebdo murders.

Submission, by Michel Houellebecq, prophesies a Muslim-dominated government in France about seven years from now, ushered into power by the French Tory and Labour parties. What they want, says one of the cleverer characters in the book, ‘is for France to disappear – to be integrated into a European federation’. This means they’d much rather do a deal with a Muslim party than with the National Front, France’s Ukip equivalent. If any of this sounds familiar to you, I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s amazing how likely and simple the author makes this Islamic revolution sound.

Can we stop this transformation of all we have and are? I doubt it. To do so would involve the grim-faced determination of Australia, making it plain in every way that our doors are open only to limited numbers of people, chosen by us, enduring the righteous scorn of the supposedly enlightened.

As we lack the survival instinct and the determination necessary, and as so many of our most influential people are set on committing a sentimental national suicide, I suspect we won’t.

To those who condemn reasonable calls for national self-defence as bigotry, hatred and intolerance (which they are not), I make only this request: just don’t pretend you’re doing a good and generous thing, when you’re really cowardly and weak.

As I said, emotional reactions are clearly not what we should rely upon when considering important international issues such as this. Clear thinking and critical evaluation of the evidence and the facts is what is required. And that seems to be in short supply in so much of the West today.

I close with the words of Paul Zanetti:

If there’s any one underlying message that must be read into the story of little Alyan it is that illegal human trafficking must be stopped, that the Abbott government’s successful policies must be widely adopted or the drownings will continue.

This must be balanced with an increased selective intake by all nations of genuine refugees, fleeing persecution or war or both. Australia has a proud history of settling refugees and migrants. This must continue.

Migration has been an overwhelmingly positive contributor to the growth, success and affluence of this nation – with exception, namely criminal ideologists who wish us harm, currently being addressed. Careful, selective immigration and genuine refugee intakes – not open border anarchy – will strengthen Australia and save lives while meeting our international obligations.

Middle Eastern Christians Are Made Of Better Stuff Than Us

Western life is cushy and while Western Christians are undoubtedly sincere, I am under no illusion that we are weaker Christians for our comforts.

Take a look at news coming out of the Middle East and you will see the kind of faith and hope that only persistent life-threatening  persecution can establish in person.

Consider this recent example:

CAIRO, Egypt — Imagine ISIS kidnapped a relative of yours and then you see their brutal beheading on television. Many different emotions can take over, including anger, grief, and depression.

CBN News found a group of Egyptian Christians, however, who responded much differently. They are happy their family members stood firm in their faith.

Widow Mariam Farhat told us she “was very proud” that her husband “stood firm in his faith and that he didn’t deny Jesus.”

Honoring the Martyred

That surprising reaction is happening 150 miles south of Cairo, in the village of Al Aour.

Residents there honor the sacrifice of 21 Egyptians brutally murdered last February by ISIS. Their pictures are prominently displayed in the sanctuary of Virgin Mary Church.

Thirteen attended the church. The martyrs left behind family members like 23-year-old Farhat. She became a widow when the militants beheaded her husband Malak Ibrahim in Libya.

She first learned of his murder when she saw the now infamous video on local television.

“We were very sad for the first two days, but we hadn’t seen the video,” she recalled. “When we saw them in the video calling to Jesus we were very comforted.”

And that’s why Mariam and other families say they are now joyful, not sad.

Bebawy Al Ham’s brother Samuel was among those killed.

“We were always praying that God would make them steadfast in their faith,” Bebawy told CBN News. “We were very happy with what they said on the video: ‘Jesus Christ have mercy on us.’ When we found out they had been killed for being Christian, we were very comforted, because these were God’s children and he took them.”

Although Samuel’s wife and children now live without a husband and father, his family told CBN News their faith is stronger; they forgive the jihadists, and even pray for ISIS.

“I pray for them that God may open their hearts, and they may know the truth and know that what they do is wrong and then do the right thing,” Bebawy said.

“Jesus told us to forgive every sin and we forgive them and we hope that they can come to know Jesus,” he said.

Orange Jumpsuits

Egyptian Christians are encouraged to know they are not alone. In the United States there’s a growing movement among Christians to demonstrate unity and solidarity with those who are suffering for Christ in the Middle East.

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, explained.

“What we thought was ‘how could we identify and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being brutalized around the world for their Christian faith?'” he said. “What tangible thing could we do, what practical thing could we do?”

Immediately, orange jumpsuits came to mind. Mahoney and others launched the #orangejumpsuitcampaign. The movement has expanded to orange scarves, sweaters, and ribbons.

“It’s to remind our brothers and sisters that we love them, and we’re standing with them and to remind decision makers here in America and across the globe–the free nations of the world–we cannot be silent on this issue,” Mahoney said.

He said the response has been amazing. Non-Christians have joined in as well.

“A Jewish rabbi, to stand in solidarity with persecuted Christians is dying his beard orange, which I think is incredible and I can’t wait to see that,” Mahoney said.

‘Please Remember Us’

Mariam was encouraged after she viewed cell phone photos of Americans wearing orange.

“May the Lord make their love grow and grow. We are very happy with their love and we don’t deserve their love,” she told CBN News.

Mahoney said every five minutes around the world a Christian is killed for his faith.

“People don’t understand the kind of barbarism and brutality they are going through,” he said. “And you know when I visit persecuted Christians in the Middle East there is one thing that they always ask–it doesn’t matter if it is Iraq, Syria, wherever it might be– it’s this: ‘Please remember us!'”

And wearing orange on the job or at church helps people remember them.

“I think people need to understand that if we do not act quickly, the public expression of Christianity may be extinguished in the Middle East. As Elie Weisel, Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize winner, says, “we must always take sides. Silence only helps the oppressor, never the oppressed,'” Mahoney said.

Mariam also has a message for others who have suffered or still face danger from ISIS.

“Don’t be sad or cry. God will support us all,” he said. “And he will fulfill his promise that he is the father of the orphans and the widows.”

It’s powerful stuff.

And Miriam is spot on right – God will fulfill his promise that he is the father of the orphans and the widows.

Hollywood Heroes: John Rhys-Davies

Hollywood Heroes sounds like it could be a series and it would be a good one but honestly, I’m not sure I could find even a handful of “heroes” in Hollywood despite the comic book obsession that is sweeping the industry.

Nonetheless, John Rhys-Davies, famous for his roles in Indiana Jones and The Lord of The Rings film series, has spoken bold truth about the sad, sorry state of Western culture and threat of Islam:

Perhaps John Rhys-Davies was channeling Gimli, his character from The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, because the Welsh actor delivered a soliloquy late Monday about good and evil and even warned of the end of days courtesy of radical Islamic terrorism and political correctness.

“There is an extraordinary silence in the West,” said Rhys-Davies on Adam Carolla’s podcast posted Monday night. “Basically, Christianity in the Middle East and in Africa is being wiped out — I mean not just ideologically but physically, and people are being enslaved and killed because they are Christians. And your country and my country are doing nothing about it.”

Carolla elicited laughter from Rhys-Davies when he asked him when it became fashionable to refrain from judging outsiders.

“This notion that we’ve evolved into a species that’s incapable of judging other groups and what they are doing, especially when it is beheading people or setting people on fire or throwing acid in the face of schoolgirls — I like that kind of judging. It’s evolved!” said Carolla.

Carolla joked that if Bill Maher had been around during World War II, Americans would not have fought the Nazis because the comedian would have been “screaming” about tolerance.

“This is a unique age. We don’t want to be judgmental,” said Rhys-Davies, who’s also known for his role in the Indiana Jones franchise. “Every other age that has come before us has believed exactly the opposite. I mean, T.S. Eliot referred to ‘the common pursuit of true judgment.’ Yes. That’s what it’s about. Getting our judgments right.”

Rhys-Davies was on Carolla’s podcast — which has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s most popular podcast — to promote the DVD release of Return to the Hiding Place, a film about Jews in Holland during World War II that was directed and written by Peter C. Spencer, also a guest on Monday night’s podcast.

“It’s an age where politicians don’t actually say what they believe,” said Rhys-Davies. “They are afraid of being judged as being partisan. Heaven forbid that we should criticize people who, after all, share a different value system. ‘But it’s all relevant. It’s all equally relative. We’re all the same. And God and the devil, they’re the same, aren’t they, really? Right and wrong? It’s really just two faces of the same coin,’ ” he said, mocking what he sees as politically correct doctrine.

“We have lost our moral compass completely, and, unless we find it, we’re going to lose our civilization. I think we’re going to lose Western European Christian civilization, anyway,” said Rhys-Davies.

Listen to the podcast here. The discussion of politics, good and evil and Islamic terror begins around the 14-minute mark.

Rhys-Davies seems like an eloquent guy and on these issues he has nailed it to the wall – let’s hope that people wake up so the West doesn’t get nailed to the wall by Islam.

The Christian hope in Jesus Christ holds us firm though so even if the West goes under (it just about deserves it in my opinion), we need not fear or despair because the Kingdom of God will surpass all earthly kingdoms and that includes Islam, even if it reigns once again in bloody violence for a short while.

“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”” ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭2:44-45‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.’” Daniel‬ ‭7:27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.” I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.” Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭2:1-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Why The West Cannot Understand The Middle East

There was a time when the West fought many a war against the various Islamic empires because they understood that their existence was quite literally at stake.

Not so today, where people like Barack Obama and organisations including but not limited to the United Nations, the entire mainstream media and one and a half gazillion NGOs all demand that we respect an ideology that is motivating Muslims to behead, crucify, blow up, blow themselves up, terrorise, and generally be unpleasant.

Today, Islam is “the religion of peace” no matter how many are pilled on the already somewhat high death toll of anywhere between 240-270 million people, and much of that in the last century or so.

How can so many people be so blind? And how is it that so many of these people are all in positions of significant power, whether politics or the media?

The answer is: by deliberate and careful intention.

Yes, the leftists who go by the title “progressives” are the same who went by the titles “socialist”, “communist” and “Marxist” in decades past and the plan has always been the same:

  1. Stir up dissent and conflict between social groups within a society
  2. Rise to power as they fight it out, promising to end the conflict
  3. Become the saviours of humanity by establishing a “utopia” and executing resistors

It’s simple and it works because our fallen nature naturally inclines us to hate each other and simple differences are enough to drive wedge between groups of people collectivied by features like skin colour or sex.

The natural, God-given role of government is to punish wrongdoing so when a society is at war within itself, the government must exercise its strength to end the conflict and this is the precise goal of leftists: powerful government with excessive reach and any opportunity to come down hard on “dissenters”, which are always their political and ideological enemies, especially genuine Christians and the church.

So while these leftist pretend that Islam is no threat, there is an abundance or truth about the matter: namely, that Islam and indeed the entire Middle East will never adopt our ways because in their mind they are antithetical, just as biblical Christians will never accept the false promises of the humanist left.

Consider the following response to the immigration problems experienced by Europe from an immigrant who has decades experience living in both the Middle East and the West:

On this morning’s translated op-ed about the European immigration crisis, our Arabic translator ritamalik left an excellent comment that is worth reproducing in its entirety. It has been edited slightly for punctuation and clarity:

I certainly disagree with you on so many levels, RonaldB. First let me say that I am an Iranian ex-pat, and I want to tell you my perspective on these issues as an outsider to Western culture:

As I have observed you Westerners now for close to twenty years that I have lived amongst you, I have learned that you are a people that think you are responsible for all the things that go on in the world.

You are obsessively solution-oriented people, which means you think for any problem that we have in this world, there must be a solution, and you implement various solutions to international problems that you see around you. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t.

You also are a highly responsible people, and when even the slightest thing goes wrong, you are very angry and indignant about it and you quickly want to find the one responsible for it and punish him. You quickly look for someone to sue.

Being a guilt-oriented culture (as oppose to shame- and honour- oriented) also you are very quick to take responsibility when you feel (real or imagined) that you did something wrong and quickly start to beat your chests in a public mea culpa and engage in proverbial self-flagellation.

All of the above make you incapable of understanding people from my neck of the woods, and your and our tendencies have made a really toxic combination on the world stage.

Why? Because we in the Middle East are a very irresponsible and fatalistic lot. When things go wrong for us (as they often do) we never fuss too much over why they went wrong. We expect things to go wrong all the time as part of the natural process of things, and when they do we don’t try to find the guilty party to sue him. Analysis and self-reflection and making sure it will never happen again and stuff like that are highly alien activities to us.

Unless of course what went wrong causes us shame and embarrassment, in which case we will do anything possible to deflect blame from ourselves, especially if we have a hunch that it actually was our fault. We will make a lot of noise, give lots of excuses and engage in a lot of blame-shifting. We roll up in a fetal position and pretend that we are actually the prime victims of what went wrong, all the while knowing full well that we have caused the damned thing to go wrong ourselves!

All of that dysfunctional behaviour is highly exacerbated if there is a willing person (or country or culture) who is gladly taking all the blame for our behaviour on himself and has the peculiar tendency to totally disregard our role in what went wrong.

Now this toxic mix applies to the politics and wars in the Middle East and in the Third World in general in this following way:

We in the Middle East have a problem. For example we have a brutal dictator like Saddam. Then you see that we are suffering and people are being tortured in his prison and you wonder how you could help. Then Saddam invades Kuwait. You decide, enough is enough, and attack and free Kuwait, but you decide not to go all the way in and remove Saddam. Then Saddam, angrier than ever, lashes out even more at his own people and kills lots of dissidents and gasses the Kurds.

Now all of this becomes your fault, because you didn’t finish the job and didn’t remove Saddam. Then Saddam continues his bad behaviour and now he is even trying to develop WMDs. This time you say, enough is enough, and you go in and remove him. You offer democracy and financial aid on a platter to the Iraqis. Now in post-Saddam Iraq, Shias and Sunnis start to fight and chaos starts to reign, and no matter how much you try you cannot properly pacify the country.

So now all of this chaos becomes your fault. Everybody says that you should not have intervened and removed Saddam because even though he was brutal, he was keeping everyone in line and preventing Shias and Sunnis from killing each other. So now what do you do? You say OK! Enough is enough, we leave and won’t intervene again because we just made a mess. So you pull out your troops, and now what? The Shia vs. Sunni fight is exacerbated, and even war and chaos spreads to the rest of the region. In Syria you decided not to intervene and now ISIS has taken over. So now you assume that the rise of ISIS was somehow your fault as well. But had you actually intervened and tried to put in a regime that was a bit more manageable than ISIS, you would have been blaming yourself for having installed a puppet regime that would predictably torture everyone and make people miserable and want to leave their country. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t seems to be the destiny of any policy that you pursue in the Third World.

People are still blaming the West for not having intervened in Rwanda in the ’90s when 800,000 people were killed, while simultaneously blaming the West for intervening in Iraq, Somalia and elsewhere.

In all of these blame and regrets one thing is missing: assigning responsibility to the people of the Third World themselves, who are actually the primary causes of the chaos and mayhem in their own countries. As if we are passive objects that if you push the wrong button in us we will inevitably act in a certain way. The West was not at fault for the genocide in Rwanda! The Rwandans were! The West is not at fault for the chaos in the Middle East, we Middle Easterners are! We are the ones who have a bloodlust and long to shed each other’s blood for silly reasons. Your “failure” to stop us from destroying ourselves IS NOT YOUR FAULT!! We are a confusing and hard to deal with lot! Please get that!!

In dealing with us, the people of the Middle East, you have had, and will have one long series of lose-lose options. There are no win-lose options! None! When dealing with irresponsible and bloodthirsty cultures you cannot have good outcomes, no matter how much you wrack your heads and try to come up with a policy that would work and bring peace and prosperity to us. It will not happen! We are the ones who have to change and do some self-reflection and soul-searching in order to maybe… just maybe, learn to be a bit more civilised!

Meanwhile, all that I ask of you is that, whether you decide to intervene or not in our affairs, keep your expectation of the outcome low. Accept no responsibility for the outcome. Put the blame for the negative outcome of whatever policy you pursued where it belongs (on us!) so that we won’t have the chance to save face despite our countries’ being in an embarrassing mess, and feel like victims when we should be soul-searching. And, for the sake of anything that you hold holy and dear, please don’t wreck your nice and orderly and civilised societies and advanced cultures by taking millions of refugees, in order to save us from the mess that has nothing to do with you and came about despite your best efforts, that we have caused with our own hands, and given half the chance, we will cause in your countries as well as soon as we settle down here, or even sooner!

Thank you!

It’s a necessary and timely warning but likely one that will remain unheeded by the leftist establishment that now dominates the West.

Turkey Begins To Exhibit Strength: A Sign Of Things To Come?

Turkey ruled the Middle East for have a Millenia and that’s a long time. They have taken a back seat for a century but now Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Tukeys President, is beginning to display the telling signs of his ambition.

My personal perspective is that the antichrist will arise on the power base of an Islamic empire, one that is likely centred in Turkish, although I believe the latter chapters of the Book Of Daniel suggest that Middle Eastern borders may be redrawn before the antichrist appears. Consequently, it may no longer be the “Turkey” of today.

Erdoğan certainly has taken Turkey headlong out of secularism and back to its oppressive, Islamic roots as many Turkish citizens are discovering the hard way. The West, with Obama at the forefront, seem okay with this and haven’t, to my knowledge, expressed any concern about this sharp change in direction.

Turkey has already been fighting IS, which so far has appeared a convenient excuse to attack Kurdish fighters. Now, it appears that Turkey has larger plans against IS:

ISTANBUL – US aircraft and drones are arriving in Turkish air bases and a comprehensive battle against Islamic State militants will be launched soon, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday.

Turkey formally approved the use of its air bases by US and coalition aircraft late last month, a major change in policy after years of reluctance in taking a front-line role against the Islamist fighters in northern Syria.

“As part of our agreement with the US we have made progress regarding the opening up of our bases, particularly Incirlik,” Cavusoglu told state broadcaster TRT, referring to a major air base near the southern city of Adana.

“We’re seeing that manned and unmanned American planes are arriving and soon we will launch a comprehensive battle against Islamic State all together,” he said during a trip to Malaysia.

Turkey and the United States have been working on plans to provide air cover for a group of US-trained Syrian rebels and jointly sweep Islamic State fighters from a strip of northern Syria stretching about 80 km (50 miles) along the Turkish border.

Diplomats familiar with the plans say cutting off Islamic State’s access to the border, over which foreign fighters and supplies have flowed, could be a game-changer in the fight against the insurgents.

But there are major challenges.

Washington said on Tuesday it had indications some of the rebels trained by its military were captured by fighters from al-Qaida’s Syria wing, Nusra Front, underscoring the vulnerability of a group thought to number less than 60 who only deployed to the battlefield in recent weeks.

Islamic State has seized large parts of Syria and neighboring Iraq in its drive to create an Islamic caliphate.

With Western war-weariness at all time highs regarding the Middle East especially, the rise of a dominant power that can lead this perpetually troubled region would be very well received in many quarters. Some would even accept Iran, of all nations!
Biblical prophecy cannot be any clearer that the antichrist will be widely received with praise, though not by Christians, and that this will lead to an assault against an Israel and Jerusalem that is resting at peace and ease.

Naturally, this is not the case at this present moment and so we can expect significant changes and transfers in power to occur during the coming years of the Middle East.

For now, we must watch and pray in the knowledge that human attempts to bring peace will only lead to the rise of the most evil empire in history.

Nevertheless, Jesus will prevail and his victory is already written, so our hope is sure and we need never fear.

“The oracle of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the spirit of man within him: “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it….And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12:1-3, 9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

““At the time appointed he shall return and come into the south, but it shall not be this time as it was before. For ships of Kittim shall come against him, and he shall be afraid and withdraw, and shall turn back and be enraged and take action against the holy covenant. He shall turn back and pay attention to those who forsake the holy covenant. Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate. He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action. And the wise among the people shall make many understand, though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder. When they stumble, they shall receive a little help. And many shall join themselves to them with flattery, and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time. “And the king shall do as he wills. He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods. He shall prosper till the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done. He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all. He shall honor the god of fortresses instead of these. A god whom his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts. He shall deal with the strongest fortresses with the help of a foreign god. Those who acknowledge him he shall load with honor. He shall make them rulers over many and shall divide the land for a price. “At the time of the end, the king of the south shall attack him, but the king of the north shall rush upon him like a whirlwind, with chariots and horsemen, and with many ships. And he shall come into countries and shall overflow and pass through. He shall come into the glorious land. And tens of thousands shall fall, but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom and Moab and the main part of the Ammonites. He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. He shall become ruler of the treasures of gold and of silver, and all the precious things of Egypt, and the Libyans and the Cushites shall follow in his train. But news from the east and the north shall alarm him, and he shall go out with great fury to destroy and devote many to destruction. And he shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end, with none to help him.”

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭11:29-45‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?” And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven. Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. If anyone has an ear, let him hear: If anyone is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if anyone is to be slain with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints. Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed. It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭13:1-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Mark Davidson’s Signpost Theory, The Shemitah, and The Futre Of The United States

Every nation that has ever been the most powerful in history has ceased to be number one at some point and the United States is next.

This is mixed bag reality because the United States has done so much good and so much bad.

Consider the role of the US in World War Two, preserving the world from countless evil regimes including but not limited to the Nazis, Communists, and Imperial Japanese, as well as it’s powerful Christian export to the nations.

Contrast that with its excessive lifestyles and consequently catastrophic debt, alongside its more recent legalisation and export of immorality including murder by abortion and the glorification of perversity through Hollywood.

A myriad of signs are pointing to something big and bad coming for the United States in governmental, economic, social, and religious spheres.

Mark Davidson’s Signpost theory looks at what the biblical scriptures declare we can expect from the Middle East in the lead up to the return of Jesus and he suggests a connection – perhaps a vital one – with a declining role of the U.S.  In world affairs.

This of course has been an expectation of many prophecy teachers and students over the last forty years or more specifically because of the historically moral and upright influence America has had on the world.

Many have assumed that a moral and generally Christian America must diminish or cease to exist before the rise of the antichrist, especially a Middle Eastern antichrist.

Other theories such as Jonathan Cahn’s shemitah parallels along with the plain and obvious signs that the U.S. is weighed down by unbelievable debt all suggests a similar outcome.

Davidson’s recent blog post offers valuable insight and makes some important predictions that we should be considering carefully in prayer and watchfulness:

September 13 is getting close (58 days away!), and the Second Signpost is getting nearer, whenever that might be. September 13 may bring some event that is deleterious to the United States according to The Harbinger. So how might September 13 and the Second Signpost be tied together, and what if anything can be done to prepare?
The Possible Event on September 13

Rabbi Cahn in his book The Harbinger made the following comparison of the progression of related events here in the United States, with what happened to ancient Israel (circa 736-722 B.C.).

The First Event

For Israel this was an invasion by Assyria. Some territory and towns were taken.

For the US this was 9-11: an invasion by some Saudis. They flew planes into our buildings and essentially took from us several blocks of territory in lower Manhattan, namely the World Trade Center.

The Second Event

For Israel this was economic in nature. The Assyrians demanded silver tribute resulting in many of the wealthy handing over silver, putting a dent in Israel’s economy.

For the US this was economic in nature. In 2008 the great financial crisis essentially made all western banks insolvent. We have never really recovered what with tens of millions either unemployed, underemployed or on food stamps.

The Third Event

For Israel this was the destruction of the northern kingdom. Israel lost its sovereignty and the people were taken away.

For the US this third event which has not happened could be on the same par as what happened to Israel. It could range from nuclear attack, to an EMP attack, to a major currency and banking event, to nothing. We do not know what it will be.

The first event, in 2001 came with no warning. The second event in 2008 actually erupted in August of the preceding year as the beginning of the great mortgage meltdown involving the subprime loans. It caused dominoes to fall within the economy until the full-blown crisis of September 2008 erupted. This time around, it seems we have no warning. The last two events occurred on workdays. This third event will occur on a Sunday.

The Second Signpost

But the looming Second Signpost may be giving us a clue.

The most popular comeback for people who argue against the interpretation of the Second Signpost say the United States would never allow Iran to invade the Middle East. Some politicians like Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas say the US should just invade Iran and be done with it. In human terms this makes sense, but the Bible shows Iran to be the invader of the Middle East regardless of what we may or may not do. This I believe is why someone like Obama is president and not someone like Bush or Cotton. God’s word will be fulfilled just as it says.

Events of course could play out completely different from what I will write here. But it is entirely possible that any major event connected to September 13 may very well bring the US down so that it cannot project power on a scale to stop a nation the size of Iran, halfway across the globe. This would open the door for Iran to run out and execute its invasion. I have found in my studies of history that many times the forces of evil are cowards. They only attack if it looks like they will win. I think that is one reason the USSR never attacked with conventional arms across the iron curtain even though the number of planes and tanks was double or triple that of NATO – they were afraid of a good chance they would not win.

Iran may not run out because it might be afraid of being stopped by the United States. Being the masterful chess players they are on the world stage, they might very well be working out plans to make sure the US stays out of their way, or simply be waiting for the opportune moment when the US cannot interfere. They will run out when they feel assured of victory.

Ron Paul’s Message

Contemplating all of this, I saw that good ole’ Ron Paul had teamed up with Porter Stansberry to deliver a message of economic disaster. You can see it at www.ronpaulmessage44.com.

For 24 years, Ron Paul was the only representative in Congress who challenged the Fed and actively tried to abolish it. On many occasions, Ron Paul was the only politician to corner Fed chiefs and make them squirm. In this Youtube clip starting at 04:27 you can see Representative Paul getting former Fed Chief Ben Bernanke into a corner and smiling a bit. Bernanke looked like a deer caught in the headlights and had to lie through his teeth to get out of that one. Central banks keep gold because of tradition? Puhleese.

[4:56] Paul: “Do you think gold is money?”

[5:02] Bernanke: “No.”

[5:10] Paul: (smiles)

[5:16] Paul: “Why do central banks hold it?”

[5:24] Bernanke: “Well its tradition.”

I usually don’t pay attention to the Stansberry infomercials. Like other watchdogs they continually talk about economic disaster. As an example they were talking several months ago about how currency laws would come into effect and it would be disastrous for the United States. I haven’t noticed any disasters. What caught my attention this time is that Ron Paul has agreed to use his name and reputation to spread the message. For many years prior to the Tea Party starting, I considered Ron Paul to be the only politician worth listening to.

Anyway, his message is long but full of good information. Since it is a Stansberry infomercial, you cannot rewind it so if you miss something you have to start from the beginning. The timing of this is interesting since I only saw commercials for this in the last couple weeks as September 13 approached.

Ron Paul says, as has Jim Sinclair and Peter Schiff (author of Crash Proof) that the turning point for the United States economy and banking system will be when people lose confidence, or hope, in the dollar. The US dollar is not backed by gold like so many may believe it is.

The Federal Reserve site itself says that the dollar is no longer exchangeable for gold or silver. This is how it is backed, stated on their own site:

“The Congress has specified that Federal Reserve Banks must hold collateral equal in value to the Federal Reserve notes that the Federal Reserve Bank puts in to circulation. This collateral is chiefly held in the form of U.S. Treasury, federal agency, and government-sponsored enterprise securities.”

By saying securities back up the dollar, this means paper backs paper. There is no inherent value. The paper has value only because the Fed says it does and people believe it.

Currency Event and the Second Signpost

Since Ron Paul says in his message that this coming currency event would eventually result in the inability of the US military to project power, there is the connection to the Second Signpost. The currency event to come will be like nothing we have ever experienced. Many nations over many centuries have had these currency collapses. In this past century it was Germany (Weimar Republic), Argentina, Zimbabwe, and the list goes on. But they could always use US dollars in a pinch.

What is different here is that the last time a currency collapsed for the United States was prior to 1788, and this time the currency is by and large the foreign currency reserve for most nations. How might this affect the whole world? After all, the United States is not like Zimbabwe.

The U.S. government will try to protect itself and put in place capital controls like what happened in Greece this past month. The government might try to confiscate 401k’s, and put in new regulations on withdrawing cash. Bank lending may stop. ATM’s may be closed for weeks. If interest rates rise as they probably will, the US government will default on the debt for the interest on the debt might be too large to pay.

Now, Ron Paul didn’t say this, but if interest rates do rise that might be the 2008-like derivatives event that brings down banks since most derivatives are tied to interest rates and a rise of 2% might be in the wrong direction of most of their bets.

As Paul says, “The US dollar is built entirely on confidence, when that confidence dissolves so does everything else… That’s the weakness of paper money… Governments can declare it legal tender but they do not have power to give it value.”

Ron Paul also said that we may expect to see further suppression of privacy, and bank and brokerage closings.

Preparation

The infomercial then goes on to recommend a book called America 2020: The Survival Blueprint. It is prohibitively expensive in my opinion. Essentially, the things it suggests you do are not very different than what I and others have been saying: (a) buy silver coins, (b) get farmland even if just a few acres, and (c) get your wealth out of the US dollar.

The timing of Ron Paul’s message is interesting. He has been warning about a currency event for years, but only now has he been putting out this long and scripted message. Even if nothing happens September 13, the Second Signpost eventually will cause a currency event all on its own with its removal of the US Petrodollar.

In any event, get yourself ready. Minimize your holdings of U.S. dollar-denominated assets. This means getting out of US bonds, stocks and CDs. Put the money into other assets. Have maybe one month’s bills and groceries worth of cash in hand if you can afford it. Buy silver for barter. Buy gold for insuring larger amounts of wealth. It’s too late to plant a garden in most parts of the country but you can gather the materials and supplies needed to start one next year.

These are all things a household should do and have anyway. As Dr. Paul says in the message, “The more people who prepare themselves the better off we are all going to be” and “by the time we see a full blown currency crisis it will be too late to protect yourself.” Can you imagine what a source of blessing the Church could be if just one tenth of everyone calling themselves Christian would be prepared?

The Church by and large doesn’t want to believe a Second Signpost is coming, or that the Antichrist will be anything but European, but that the Rapture is just around the corner. How pathetic it is that God’s people who should be leading the charge for preparations because they are in fact supposed to be familiar with God’s word in Daniel 8 will be just as unprepared as the unsaved public. How many churchgoers might be angry at their Church leadership for not warning them about this?

I am not claiming to know exactly what will happen but I believe the above ideas are worth serious contemplation and prayer.

What I do know is that one day the antichrist will appear and many will be swept up in his lies and deception, including many who once claimed to be Christian.

The church must be ready to offer people refuge in the hope of Jesus Christ and to do that, we must remain a wake even while the culture drifts into apathetic slumber.

Now is the time to prepare.

““But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:36-51‬ ‭ESV‬‬
