I agree with a lot of what the following video describes as the underlying reason why terrorists do what they do.
One notable absentee though in the context of Islamic terrorism (the most prominent terrorism in history) is the clear and undeniable fact that the example Mohammed set was one of jihadi terrorism and, being the founder of Islam, he gets to set the precedent of what constitutes Islam.
There is obviously also a spiritual reality behind this explained by the biblical context and this remains unexplored but for what it sets out to do, it does a good job and it’s worth your time:
Consider that his initial assumptions are the shallow waters that the mainstream media refuse to leave: poverty and education.
It should be clear that poverty and education often empower people to far greater evils than those who remain poor and uneducated, no different to the list of middle class dictators that history has produced.
The good news about Jesus Christ is that the very poorest and the most uneducated can enter into the family of God as sons and daughter who will receive an immeasurable inheritance, all of which will wash away any suffering through poverty and uneducation in this age.
“Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.” Psalm 37:27-29 ESV
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”” Revelation 21:1-4 ESV
